Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua - Oratory of St. Antunin
The exact year of construction of the chapel is not known, but it can be placed between the Forties and Fifties of the Seventeenth century. It is dedicated to Saint Anthony, known as “Sant’Antunin,” who has always been greatly venerated in the Steria Valley.
The chapel stands along an ancient mule track, once traveled by merchants and shepherds and now frequented by hikers; along the path, there are also ancient wooden crosses, symbols of protection of the territory.
In its origin, the building was simple, composed of the chapel and a small bell tower; the porch was added later as a shelter for travelers and pilgrims.
The wooden statue of the Saint, once housed inside, is now kept in the parish church. Every year, on June 14, the traditional mass is celebrated there.
