Oratory of Santa Caterina of Alexandria in Tovo

According to the canonical Leone Raimondi, the Oratory of Santa Caterina was founded in 1578, although the first preserved document is the inventory from 1593. The structure, older than the Church of Sant'Antonio, retains a choir in late Gothic style, while the stucco decorations are partly altered.

The oratory was managed by the disciplins of Santa Caterina, who annually presented an account of their activities to the bishop: from a document in 1628, it is learned that they had an income derived from olive lands.

Inside, the main altar, now very deteriorated, depicts God the Father with the Holy Spirit; in a niche was placed the statue of the Saint. A lateral altar, added later, does not appear in the inventory of 1668. The martyrdom of Santa Caterina is depicted on the vault.

Today the oratory is used as a space for cultural activities and for the preservation of historical materials.
